A Celebration of Fidelity, Wisdom, and Grace”
During this Jubilee Year, it was a unique occasion to gather 22 of the Senior Sisters of our Province for a retreat and renewal program. The retreat, preached by Fr. Biju Chettiparambil, OP, was held from the evening of August 5th to the evening of August 11th.
On the 12th, they participated in a seminar with an input session on “How to Grow Old Gracefully” by Fr. Shinto Mathew, OCD, Director of the Catholic Mental Health Ministry in India. Sr. Regina Sebastian also spoke on the theme “At the Threshold of Sunset: A Portrait of Peace & Wisdom.” In the afternoon, a sharing session was facilitated by Sr. Celine D’Cunha, during which stories of joys, challenges, and hopes were exchanged, hearts were lifted in gratitude, and bonds deepened.
On August 13, the sisters visited the Alberione Oasis at Kengeri, and in the evening the Province joyfully celebrated their Jubilee with the theme “In Your Footsteps, We Find the Way.” These beloved pioneers were honoured and appreciated for their unwavering faith, silent sacrifice, and radiant witness, which together laid the foundation for our mission in India.
Their lives remind us: they received little, yet gave so much; they sowed in tears, and today we reap in joy. Even in life’s sunset, they continue to shine radiantly for the Lord. We invoke God’s blessings upon each of them, renewed in spirit, as they journey ahead.
