Organized in Honour of St. Joseph’s Feast at St. Joseph’s Community College, Jamshedpur
As part of the celebrations for the Feast of St. Joseph, the patron saint of St. Joseph’s Community College, a Free Medical Check-up Camp was organized on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 9 AM to 12 PM under the management of the PDDM Sisters. The initiative aimed to promote health and well-being among students, staff, and the local community.
The camp was inaugurated and blessed by Rev. Fr Linus Kindo, Procurator of the Jamshedpur Diocese. In his address, he emphasized that this act of service was a meaningful way for the community college to raise health awareness, especially among the underprivileged. He highlighted the importance of valuing health and hygiene and reaching out to those in need with charity.
To mark the occasion, the Feast of St. Joseph was also celebrated with cultural performances by the students. They presented a dance performance and a street play on health and hygiene awareness, delivering a powerful message on the significance of maintaining good health.
Inspired by St. Joseph’s values of care, service, and compassion, the camp offered free health screenings, doctor consultations, medications, and medical advice. A dedicated team of medical professionals, including doctors, nursing staff, and sisters from Mercy Hospital, Jamshedpur, worked tirelessly to ensure quality healthcare services. A total of 70 individuals benefited from the free medical check-up and medication provided.
The overwhelming response to the camp reinforced the importance of health awareness and preventive care while also serving as a meaningful tribute to St. Joseph’s legacy. The event reflected the college’s ongoing commitment to faith in action and community service.
