A hundred years ago a vision was born, a dream was ignited and a journey began that has led us to this remarkable milestone in the service to humanity. With deep joy and gratitude to God, we the community of Orsola Bhavan, Mysuru celebrated the Centenary of our foundation on 14 April 2024. As a formative community, we have been preparing with fervor and enthusiasm for this auspicious day; indeed, the day of celebration was splendid.
The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Fr Sebastian MSFS, the parish priest of St Alphonsa Church. We were also privileged to have Bishop Emeritus Thomas Vazhappilly and nine other priests from different congregations. We had the presence of various religious communities of the sisters and neighboring families. The main celebrant in his homily emphasizing the role of Martha and Mary challenged us to ‘live the contemplation in action and action in contemplation’. He also greatly appreciated the Charism and Mission of our congregation.
After the Eucharistic celebration, we had a short program. The pre-postulants felicitated the gathering with a prayer dance. The dignitaries were honored with mementos followed by a short video presentation. The program ended with a festive meal.
The invitees appreciated the celebration, and the presence of all added beauty and colour to this great day. Indeed, we remain grateful, to our Divine Master for the gift of being his disciples!
