A celebration marks the milestone of a great historical event. Centenary is an occasion of thanksgiving for the abundance of God’s continuous guidance in the past hundred years and to rekindle and relive the Charism of our Bl. Fr. James Alberione.
On the 7th of April 2024 the community of Prashantha Nilaya, Mysore celebrated a century of faith, service, and dedication to God’s people. The festivity began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration by His Grace, Most. Rev. Bernard Moras, the Apostolic Administrator of Mysore. Since it was Divine Mercy Sunday, during his homily the bishop emphasized the aspects of God’s mercy and invited the participant to exercise all our ministries with mercy and compassion towards the people of God. He greatly appreciated our congregation’s contribution to the Eucharistic, Liturgical, and Priestly apostolate. It was a blessing conferred upon our Congregation as our Founder had said, “Our Apostolate will ever continue to grow in the love of Christ”.
The celebration was graced by the presence of our provincial team, the sisters from Guru Yesu Bhavan – Bangalore, and Orsola Bhavan – Mysore. We remain grateful to Sr. Celine D’Cunha our Provincial Superior, for the good wishes and blessings sent on this joyous occasion. The presence of all the priests and sisters from our neighbouring communities added colour to our celebration.
The cultural event began with a welcome dance performed by our pre-postulants followed by the felicitation and concluded with a festive meal. We pray that with God’s grace, we will walk in the footsteps of Jesus like Women of the gospel.
