The day dawned for the PDDM in India especially for the community of Mangalore to joyfully sing the praises of God on the occasion of laying the foundation stone for the convent at Bondel, on 10th May 2017.
Sr. Mabel with an introduction led us all to a prayerful mood. The laying of foundation stone was blessed by his Grace Rt. Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’ Souza Bishop of Mangalore, with the meaningful prayers and hymns in the presence of our community gathered with friends. PDDM sisters ,DSP Sisters, Fr. Robert SSP and the family members of our late beloved Sr. Alfonsa were among the invites. The Engineer Mr. Lawrence and the Contractor Mr. Richard and his team were also present. It was a historic moment for the Indian Province and the PDDM in Manglaore.
At the close of the ceremony, Sr. Assumption thanked God Almighty for this beautiful place, through the generosity of Sr. Alfonsa’s family. She thanked the Bishop for his presence and everyone who were present especially to the family members of Late Sr. Alfonsa D Souza and requested everyone to accompany us with their prayers for the success of this project. Bishop at the end praised the contractor and the engineer and requested them to complete the assigned work efficiently. The day ended with refreshments.
