Holistic Health is an approach to life. Rather than focusing on illness, it focuses on the integral person – the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. The PDDM Holistic Health Care Units are the extensions of our ministry of prayer to care for the living Body of Christ in the world. In order to create awareness on Holistic Health Care and Alternative Therapy a booklet was brought out by the Mission Team in Tamil & English. The Tamil Booklet titled “Arokiya Vazhlvirkku, Adukkalayil Erukku Arumarunthu” was released on 4th September at Sastrinagar, Chennai on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Our Lady of Health Church. The sisters from the communities of Santhome, Vianney Home and St.Mary’s witnessed the event along with three of our sisters, Regina, Agnes and Janet who hail from that parish.
The English Booklet “Home Remedies for Holistic Living” was released on 20th September at Guru Yesu Bhavan Chapel. These booklets are the fruit of the encounter with the living God in the Eucharist and the ability to see His presence in the clients who come to our Holistic Health Care units. It is a small attempt in helping the Body of Christ – the people of God, especially the poor who cannot afford expensive treatments. These booklets are dedicated to our sisters ministering at the holistic health care units and nursing the elderly and sick priests in Clergy Homes.
May these home remedies help our sisters and brothers to enjoy life in all its fullness.
On the same day a prayer book to Mary Untier of knots was also released which is dedicated to families.
