Mother Earth- Our Common Home.

CARE OF CREATION

God called us to bjam 1e stewards of creation. The Bible from the first page onwards, instructs us to cultivate “Care for Creation” (Genesis 2:15). The accounts of the creation story, suggests that human life is grounded on three fundamental and closely intertwined relationships: with God, with our neighbour and earth itself.Pope Francis calls planet earth our common home, indicates that we are a family. we need to move beyond our creed, caste, race, color, and learn to live as one single universal family.

1st September was a day marked by the Holy father as  day of prayer for the care of creation. We the community of Jamshedpur, with St. Joseph’s community college students, spent the day in cleaning the campus, removing the weeds, and we prepared the ground and planted some  plants. It gave us a sense of joy and satisfaction as we did something concrete heeding to the words of Pope Francis to take care of our common home, MOTHER EARTH!!

Mahatma Gandhi said “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed”. Let us strive to be good and responsible stewards, and make this earth a happier place to live in.
