Our Dear Sister Thecla Stella Baptista, returned to the Father’s house on 14th March 2019, at 7.25 pm. The community had just completed the celebration of the vespers.She was assisted by the entire community, as she breathed her last. Her Funeral was on 15 March, Friday, at 4 pm. The Funeral Mass waspresided over by Fr. Varghese SSP, the Provincial Superior and 13 other Pauline and Diocesan Priests.
Sr. Rosemary Muttasseril, the Provincial Superior, in the introduction for mass, acknowledged the goodness and faithfulness of Sr. Thecla in living out her vocation and mission saying, “She rendered her service faithfully and diligently; Kept always the flame of faith alive, even in the time of suffering. She showed deep affection for every one like a mother, in sharing and making herself comfortable with young and old. She lived her consecration to God fully for His glory and for the good of humanity”.
Sr. Amita Mascarenhas too in her obituary, beautifully depicted the patience, cheerfulness and faith of Sr. Thecla in spite of her illness.
A large number of people gathered for the funeral mass, was the evidence that she was known and loved by many people.
We thank God for her committed life in our Congregation of PDDM and in the Pauline Family. May she intercede for us and obtain many good and faithful Vocations.
