SECOND PHASE OF THE THIRD PROVINCIAL CHAPTER
9th – 14th August 2017
BANGALORE, PROVINCIAL HOUSE
The 2nd session of the 3rd provincial chapter began on 9th August 2017. The participants gathered at the grotto and after being welcomed, proceeded to the chapel where the Word of God was venerated with an Arathi. Then a passage from the Gospel of St. John was proclaimed and after a short reflection the participants proceeded to the chapter hall, where they were given a card with name of each community to be placed on the board. After which the president, Sr. Rosemary welcomed and addressed the gathering and invited them to sign the register.
The Moderator of the day, Sr.M. Gracelet read the Mother General’s greetings, and invited Sr. Celine to the dais who had been the participant of the G. chapter and it was providential that she could be present and share the dynamics of the G. chapter. There were also interactions through which all were enlightened by the past, and present situation of the congregation. Thus the session concluded.
The second day of the provincial chapter coincided with the liturgical Feast of St. Lawrence. The theme for meditation was the discourse of the Holy Father Pope Francis to the participants of the G. Chapter. Sr. M. Rose Ngade was the moderator of the day, Sr. Rosemary presented the report of the General Bursar to the assembly. After the break, Sr. M. Paulcy Thelakkadan presented an input session on the talk given by Sr.Tiziana Longhitano “Dialogue among the cultures: the prophecy of reciprocal love manifested in the differences.” After her presentation the assembly went into groups to discuss a questionnaire prepared on the theme.
In the afternoon after the plenary session, Sr.M. Rose Nagade, gave an input on “our mission in the light of ‘Evangelii Gaudium’ of Pope Francis. The 3rd session was on “Living and active members in Christ and in the church” towards an Hermeneutic of our ecclesial identity by Sr. M. Gracelet Mudiappan, followed by group work
The assembly interacted and shared their views and opinions. And thus the session concluded with the short prayer.
