Update Program for those who serve in the Liturgical Centres

Bringing to fruition the plan of action, the Provincial team opened a 3-day update program for those who serve in the Liturgical Centre. The purpose of the program was to equip the centrists with more accounting knowledge so that in collaboration with them, the province may attain a systematic accounting system in the service of the Liturgical Center, observing faithfully the rules and practices of the country, beginning with computerized billing in the prevalent accounting software.

Subsequently, an update program was organized for all the sisters managing centers and those assisting them in bookkeeping. The program was split into two courses according to the location, considering the province’s geographical vastness. The program was mainly to give a practical experience with the Tally Accounting software, providing them the time, space, and resourceful teaching to enhance their capacity and to meet the challenges of bookkeeping and accounting management in the Liturgical Centers. There were also some useful tips and suggestions provided to handle the accounting and financial management on day one of the session and the practical computer and workroom sessions on the next two days concluding with a group discussion and time of sharing with the Provincial Superior and the Council.

The introductory talk of Sr M Celine Cunha, the Provincial Superior prepared a seedbed for an easy sowing of accounting knowledge by Sr Florence the Economer of the Province who was the resource person of the sessions. The practical sessions were powered on by the effective intervention of Sr Victoria Gaurea, the Councillor for the Mission, Sr Sinta Pravidakunnel, and Sr Jenvie Dinis from the Accounts section.

We look forward in hope for the faithful collaboration of the sisters who participated in the update program to build up and strengthen the accounting system of the province.
